Andrew Williams, Graphic Arts and Design Grad from KU Lakeland
I chose KU because of their accelerated Graphic Arts and Design program. I was able to start my core classes before my gen eds so I was able to get a job faster. I would recommend KU to a person that is ready to work hard, be diligent and stay on task. They have the computer, writing and graphics lab that are open after class hours so that you can continue working on your craft. The teachers are also available after hours if you need extra assistance – that has been very beneficial to me.
After graduation I plan on working in my field and honing in on my craft. I actually plan on coming back to KU for my bachelors. I received everything I expected out of pursuing my education at KU. I thought going into the Graphic Arts programs was going to be easy but there’s a lot more to it than I initially thought. They teach you how to be a designer, not just a person that knows how to work a program. It’s been a great experience for me.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
