Earlier in the month, the National Beach Volleyball tournament was played in Port St. Lucie at the Club Med in Sandpiper Bay. The top 8 men and women’s teams in the United States played for a total prize money purse of $100,000 and national rankings. The circuit is run by Dr. Dominick Scott from Manhattan Beach, California who invited the massage students from KU Port St. Lucie to work on the athletes.
The students worked on approximately 25 athletes each day and enjoyed helping. The athletes and promoters were so pleased they have invited the Massage Therapy students back again for next year’s tournament.
Those participating in the event were: Juan Torres, Carole Rifflard, Massage Therapy Coordinator, Zachary Bass, and Craig Beesting and Heather Fipps.
My instructors believed in me. They were more than instructors, they tried to get to know you as a person and tried to understand your goals so they could push you towards them. Student services helped me find a job before I even graduated. Everyone was dedicated to my overall success.
