The Nursing Pharmacology class the Orlando campus had two guest speakers recently. The first speaker was Pran M. Kar, MD, FACP, FASN, FAAFP, FACIP. He gave a special presentation on his research on Stevens Johnson Syndrome. The second speaker was Gabbi Norman who is an RN and a graduate of the Keiser University Orlando Nursing program. Gabbi is also a survivor of Stevens Johnson Syndrome. At one point Gabbi was given a 15% chance of survival. Gabbi eloquently shared her experience as the patient with the nursing students. The students stated that they felt like they learned a great deal of information from the expert (Dr. Kar) physician then the perspective of the patient (Gabbi).
