The Fort Lauderdale campus hosted the first of two Advisory Board meetings where employers, faculty, students and alumni came together to exchange ideas and explore new opportunities to better prepare  students for the “real world” needs in the workforce. The meeting was kicked off by a welcome from Dr. Vonk and then the Employer of Choice Awards were presented before the groups dispersed to have their program specific break-out sessions.

The following recipients of the Employer of Choice Awards have provided extraordinary selfless service to Keiser University and the community.

  1. The first recipient was nominated by the Accounting program – Diane Minch, Certified Public Accountant. For the past four years, she has provided Keiser University—Fort Lauderdale with expert advice as the campus continuously updates and reviews the accounting programs. Her feedback has been instrumental in ensuring that program curriculum is in line with the current standards of the certified public accounting profession.
  2. Nominated by the Physical Therapist Assistant department – Clinton Erasmus of Physical Therapy Plus by the Sea.  This Employer of Choice recipient is no stranger to Keiser University—Fort Lauderdale. Not only is he a graduate of the university, he contacted the campus and welcomed  students into his clinic upon readiness to take on clinical students. He and his team of dedicated employees have subsequently hired many PTA graduates from the University. Always dedicated to the education of future colleagues, students notoriously ask if they can stay longer once their clinical affiliations have ended with him. He received the award for excellence in clinical teaching and for being a supportive partner of the PTA program.
